their stories. Designers, architects, winemakers, explorers, entrepreneurs, spies, musicians??In their own words they tell you how they discovered their passion, what inspires them, the lows as well as the highs on the journey and ultimately why they do what they do. Its award-winning design complements stunning photography and great writing. Dumbo feather is described as a 'mook' (half mag, half book). It's like a magazine because it's produced quarterly, sold in newsagents and supported
by advertising partners. It's like a book because it's a great read(almost like a series of mini-autobiographies), sold in bookshops and design stores and feels like one with it's beautiful matt, 100% recycled paper.

A$9.95 Bi-Annual
There’s always an excuse for time out. Summer’s heat draws us to the seaside for lazy days or barbecues, while autumn is perfect for long walks. The snowy slopes bring winter sports entertainment and a reason to cosy up by the fireplace, until spring blossoms draw us outdoors again.
Outdoor spaces, patios and gardens are central to our southern hemisphere culture. The section on compact and creative spaces illustrates how a small courtyard, rooftop garden or exposed backyard can provide a haven of privacy or the perfect place to view a sunset over the city. Quirky furniture, lighting, art and bright colours enliven these small areas. In one example, a raised pool solves space limitations and pool fencing requirements with ease.
Larger gardens, on the other hand, benefit from more formal design. Terraces, pools, streams and layered foliage offer beautiful vistas, as well as a place to dig green fingers into. Four projects illustrate how designer and homeowner can collaborate for optimum results.
These inspiring projects are augmented with a variety of products, suppliers and ideas aimed to equip you with the practical knowledge to complete your own project. If you have any recent work you would like to share with your audience, please contact me directly or send images of the project(s) by email or post.
